Urban Sustainability Leadership Academy (USLA)

USLA assists students from area high schools (Roxborough, Saul, and Lankenau)  thrive in the 21st century by helping them to enroll and stay at post-secondary institutions, and to be competent and proficient in the workplace. We offer an entrepreneurship curriculum that operates year-round as well as pairing students with internships and service learning opportunities.

During the summer, teens serve in the hospitality, education services, community development, healthcare, social services, childcare, and finance industries working up to 60 hours at a work site.

More than 80% of our students graduate high school and enroll at post-secondary schools.

In January of 2016, the USLA teens participated in a cooking workshop, honing their kitchen skills, and focusing on healthier choices. With new confidence, they prepared a three course dinner for friends and family.
