Counselor in Training (CIT) Job Description 2025

North Light’s Counselors in Training program is designed for youth ages 12-18. CIT supports Childcare staff in providing a clean, safe, enriching, and fun experience for summer day camp participants. This program will provide youth with work experience to prepare them for future employment. You will not only learn the basics of working with children but also develop team-building skills and leadership skills, and will also be encouraged to develop and strengthen your skills and talents (i.e., music, sports, etc.). This program is also designed to develop financial literacy and critical thinking skills. This year, North Light Community Center will be hiring 19 Counselors in Training (CIT) to work at our summer camp. Below, you will find the responsibilities, the qualifications, and how to apply to the CIT program.
How to Apply
Applications will be available on our website for printing or at our building located at 175 Green Lane, Phila, PA 19127, starting February 2025. Interested applicants should submit a completed application to thill@northlightcommunitycenter.org or drop off the paper application at North Light. Feel free to include a cover letter explaining who you are and why this position is right for you. The application window will open in February 2025 and will close the first week of April 2025. Teen Zone program is an Out of School, after-care program for teens 13-16 years old. Join us as teens will be having hands on experience in our cooking class program, college tours, college and career guidance, community services hours, opportunities to serve as a classroom helper, monthly incentives, and OOS/summer job opportunities.

North Light is proud to work with Philly Tutors to provide subject specific tutoring to our teens. Tutors are available in a variety of subjects.
