Food Pantry
We provide both fresh and nonperishable food, as well as other grocery related items available to food insecure households. We seek to provide nutritional foods to constituents who depend on our program to supplement and sustain their households.
Through a partnerships with Small Things and Philabundance, with funding from ShopRite, North Light has access to the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank. Through the Grocers Against Hunger program, Acme (Roxborough), Target (City Line) and Whole Foods Market (Plymouth Meeting) supply a wide variety of fresh foods and grocery items twice each week. Non-perishable items are donated from food drives from over 100 distinct individuals and organizations including schools, churches, and businesses.
If you are immunocompromised, have a disability, or are a senior citizen, delivery services might be available. You must reside in 19127, 19128, 19129, or 19144. To be added to our delivery list, please contact Malachi at mwoodard@northlightcommunitycenter.org or 215-483-4800 x103.
Food is distributed at 10:30AM on Mondays and Fridays.
Verification of address and income via the Food Pantry Application are required at initial intake and renewed annually.
In addition to the food pantry, participants are eligible for a monthly box of non-perishables. Items can include canned goods, cereals, condiments, pastas, household items, etc.
If food is needed outside of normal food pantry hours, check out the community fridge located at Unity Java, 5312 Ridge Ave. The fridge is open during Unity Java’s normal operating hours.

Donations to the food cupboard are needed and appreciated and can be dropped off at North Light, Monday to Friday, during regular business hours. We ask that you call 215-483-4800 to schedule a time.
Holiday Assistance
North Light provides several Holiday Assistance programs each year:
Thanksgiving Boxes
(a full meal to be prepared at home)
In partnership with Villanova and Roxborough Memorial Hospital, North Light is offering Thanksgiving meal boxes for pickup at our center. Interested and eligible participants can sign up the following ways:
- Visit the Food Pantry: Stop by during our pantry hours on Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 and sign up in person. (PREFERRED)
- Call Us: You can also sign up by phone by calling North Light during regular business hours.
- Email Us: Send your interest to services@northlightcommunitycenter.org. *Please note your participation is not guaranteed until someone replies and confirms.
The deadline to apply is November 15, 2024. For any questions, feel free to reach out! Important: Be sure to provide a working phone number or email address. We MUST be able to confirm your participation via phone or email. Meal boxes must be picked up in our center Monday 11.25.24 and Tuesday 11.26.24 between the hours of 11am-3pm.

Deadline to enroll: November 25th, 2024
Our 2024 application is now available! Applications must be emailed (services@northlighcommunitycenter.org) or dropped off in person by November 25th, 2024. Once the application is submitted, North Light Staff will call or email the participant to confirm pick up date (your placement is not confirmed until this happens). Gifts must be picked up in our center December 16th-December 19th between the hours of 9am-4:30pm. Here is the application to apply:

Manayunk Meals & More
(A hot meal delivered to your door for seniors and those in need)
This years program will be on Sunday Decemeber 15th, 2024.
Enrollment will begin Monday December 2nd, 2024.
Housing and Utility Assistance Program
