Darlene Meekins Elected President of PMBR

For more than 71 years as the local chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB,) the oldest African-American trade association in the country, the Philadelphia Metropolitan Board of Realtist (PMBR) has helped countless individuals in the Philadelphia area with “Reimagining the Dream of Homeownership through Advocacy, Activism and Action.”

Ms. Darlene Meekins of Realty Mark Associates, was elected as the 37th President at PMBR’s Installation and Fundraising Banquet on January 19, 2018. North Light Community Center was the recipient of the funds raised that evening to use in support the new President’s agenda to strengthen the communities where we work, shop, and call home.

This event highlighted a celebrity guest speaker, author Julianne Malveaux, and North Light’s former Director of Teen Services & Educational Advancement, Tawana Skipper. The event allowed these young people the opportunity to exercise their soft skills training as hosts, and gave them exposure to professionals in the real estate industry.

Presenting a check from PMBR are (l-r): Alan Graham, III, Irene Madrak, Executive Director at North Light, Darlene Meekins, Bernetta Williams, Director of Teen Services at North Light, Tawana Skipper, and Shekib Hussain.
