Philadelphia is the city of Brotherly Love, home to the Liberty Bell, and where the Declaration of Independence was born. Located between the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, Philadelphia is rich in history, sports, and food, but more importantly Philadelphia is also our home. At North Light we believe in the importance of being a good neighbor and embracing the city in which we live.

Campers will explore the Schuylkill River Trail, Wissahickon Valley Park, Valley Forge National Park, and Fairmount Park, while learning how these places shaped the history of Philadelphia. Walking tours of the Liberty Bell, the US Mint, and Benjamin Franklin’s house will reinforce our theme of Finding Philadelphia. The campers will have the opportunity to be like Rocky and run up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Through the Penn State 4-H program, campers will have hands-on STEM experiences learning and understanding the inventions of Benjamin Franklin.

In addition to Finding Philadelphia, camp activities will include the talent show, field day, computer lab activities, and a camp BBQ. Specialist will implement arts and crafts, music, and literacy during the week. Breakfast, lunch, and a nutritious snack are provided daily.
