The North Light Players

North Light Community Center is proud to be the home of a community theatre company, North Light Players. North Light Players began as a series of children's theatre workshops in 1982, as an alternative program to athletics when the old school house which North Light Community Center previously occupied was torn down and the building there today was completed.

The goal of the program is to offer exposure to and participation in the performing arts, primarily for children and youth, living in a contained geographical area, where the arts were not historically a high priority. The structure of the program is to offer participants the chance to perform or become technically involved in the mounting of theatre productions, while supplying the participants with the opportunity to hone their skills in workshops, lessons and seminars in the many artistic disciplines.

Pictured above on the left at the Cabaret Night on November 6, 2003, North Light Players' pianist Lois Terry accompanied Donna Braff in their rendition of "By My Side" from Godspell. Board member Ed Dougherty had the winning raffle ticket for the 50/50 Drawing held that night. "Hamming" it up (above right) with Associate Director Arte Verbrugghe, he donated his half of the cash back to North Light.
