Let’s Dance! Put on your red shoes…

1st session starts Sept. 12-Oct. 3; series of 4 classes for $50 (First class is a FREE try out)
2nd session starts Oct. 10-Nov. 7; series of 4 classes for $65 (no class Oct. 31)
3rd session starts Nov. 14- Dec. 12; series of 4 classes for $65 (no class Nov. 21)
The class is geared towards the 55+ group with movements derived from jazz, modern, ballet and musical theater. Each class will begin with a 20 min. warm up that is an excellent overall workout yet is easy on the body. Thera-bands will be provided for resistance training. Following we will be learning choreography to a song from our “era”. I will take music suggestions from the group. At the end of the 1st class we will discuss everyone’s concerns, ideas, suggestions etc. that will help me plan classes accordingly. Lastly, I want us to have fun while working out! This is also a good way to experience the camaraderie of dancing with a group. An informal performance for family and friends will be planned but is optional. Come out and join us and “Put on your red shoes and dance the blues!”
Renee is an award winning dancer/teacher/choreographer that has been a dance professional for over 30 years. She has danced with a variety of companies, including two tours of Europe and the US. She has taught at numerous studios, colleges and high schools including the Rock School, Bryn Mawr College, and University of the Arts. She has a special talent and knack for working with beginners and helping them to feel confident and capable of dancing at their level of ability.
Learn to Cook Like a Pro
with Chef Gary Murphy
Thursday evenings, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Starts Oct. 4: series of 8 classes (no class Nov. 15 & 22)
Each class is $30 (includes $5 to cover food costs)
College students and adults will learn to cook quickly and simply with no fancy equipment AND with minimal clean-up. Each class will feature a recipe from the latest issues of “Food & Wine” or “Bon Appétit” adapted to be simple. These classes will have you impressing a date, family or friends. Each class is a full demonstration and tasting with the printed recipes to take home. Class size is limited to 12.
Chef Gary Murphy has been a chef instructor for 30 years in Philadelphia and Arizona. During his time teaching in the School District of Philadelphia, he was co-facilitator for the Careers thru Culinary Arts Program, a city-wide effort of 14 school and 450 students in training sessions, field trips and scholarship competitions.
